Choose this jacket when the temperature goes sub-zero. It’s as warm as down, but more comfortable without the puffiness and the stiff, noisy shell fabric typically encasing down fill. It is constructed with two layers of llama fabric. The outer fabric contains the coarse guard hairs as well as the finer down fibers to produce a rugged shell with an amazing warmth/weight ratio. Lined with the fine, dehaired llama fabric, this garment provides unequalled cold weather comfort. The wicking and breathing qualities of the llama fabric impart an impressive comfort range that reduces overheating when the thermometer goes above freezing. Western styling and functional design make this a perfect choice for demanding applications for ranch or work wear as well as recreational activities. The guard hairs in the outer shell create a distinctive luster that speaks of the garment’s quality.

We produced this jacket in response to requests from customers for a medium-weight, hooded jacket. We added a hood to the Cuzco jacket and 3” of length to the torso to produce more wind and cold protection for wintry conditions. The fitted hood placed on top of the storm collar gives a secure fit that won’t scoop wind or come off even when drawstrings are untied.
